Skin 79 BB cream - a (badly written) review

I have 'decent' skin. I get pimples if I don't wash it. I have to do a detoxifying mask at least once a week, and a hydrating mask once a week, or I get at least one cystic pimple. I have a cystic pimple now because (spoiler alert!) I didn't do my masks as I'm kind of a lazy fuck.

So of course I'm always on the look out for things that say they'll clear up your skin, contain sunscreen, improve your non-existent wrinkles, and will bring you breakfast in bed. I've seen around the internet that Skin79's BB cream, specifically the pink one (I dunno the specific name?) does almost all of these. It did not bring me breakfast in bed though. :(

So today I am trying it out. I obviously won't be able to tell if it clears up any acne I have, as I'm only using it for a day. But I can tell you how it applies, whether it sinks into my pores, whether it oxidizes (hint: It does), etc.

I bought the sampler pack of their 4 most popular products. It looks like this:

If you decided to skip my insane ramblings, I'm going to talk about the hot pink one 2nd from the left.

ONWARDS ADVENTURERS

I am so sorry to subject you to this, but it's for review purposes I swear.
This is my face with only moisturizer, primer, and chapstick on.

Yeah, you can see the cystic pimple that is currently ruining my life and goddamn I look oily. Anyway, I use Perricone, M.D. Face Finishing Moisturizer, Sephora Silicone-Free Primer, and Baby Lips Lip Balm.

So here's a pic of the BB cream out of the package. It's hot pink, as I've said before, and comes with a cool little applicator that makes squeezing it out super easy.
Top on
Top off!

I literally just squired some onto my hand and went to work with my Real Technique's Expert Face Brush. Have I mentioned how much I fucking love that brush? You can see it in all it's unwashed glory in the first BB pic.

Anyway, the BB cream applied well, but was a bit streaky so I had to really blend that shit like I was a Blendtec blender. It came out looking pretty good, I think. It has a faint soapy smell that some people call floral, so I guess it smells like flower soap. I'm 99% sure it only comes in one color, so if you're not a pale lady or dude you're just kinda shit outta luck. I feel it may even be a bit too pale for me, but I've heard around the web that it can oxidize pretty badly, but as I put it on literally 5 minutes ago I've yet to see any oxidation.

This BB cream promises 3 things on the package: whitening for your skin, UV protection SPF 25 (FYI that isn't really enough so you better wear some other sunscreen), and wrinkle improvement. I can't speak to any of these, obviously, because I'm trying it out for a day.

Ok this is after I applied it.
Yup, the same cracked out me, but with BB cream!

So as you can see, it's a light-to-medium coverage. I've literally only put that on my skin in this pic, no concealer, so you can still see blemishes and my dark circles through it, which is what makes me think its only in the middle of light and medium coverage. Again, though, it is a BB cream even if it's an Asian BB cream. Also, it gives you a dewy finish.

So, here we go with a side by side comparison.

After

Not too bad I feel. I'm even considering buying it, which is a miracle because I rarely purchase things.

EDIT: Here's a pic maybe 20 min. later with NYX's Addis Ababa on. I think I need to just buy NYX stock for how much of their shit I use on a daily basis.

PS: It looks like the BB cream has oxidizes a bit. Aw snap. BEWARD THE OXIDIZATION.
